Exhibit Design, Prototyping, & Development: Talking Books Tell the Story within the Story

3/1/2014

The Rosenbach Museum & Library
Philadelphia, PA

For the Sendak in the 60s exhibition at the Rosenbach, I had the privilege of designing and building a series of talking books to take visitors inside the pages and the genius behind their creation. Where the Wild Things Are, In the Night Kitchen, and The Nutshell Library represent breakthrough work by Maurice Sendak and his approach to design and storytelling. The rebound books were fitted with small audio units that allowed visitors to follow along with curator, Patrick Rodgers, as he outlined the author's vision woven through each story.
